Too Left Feet Basic Cha-Cha Patterns

Remember that Cha-Cha uses Latin footwork, and Cuban motion. The rhythm is usually slow steps on one beat of music, and quick steps on half-beats. 

Side basic: (Ten steps) The rhythm is slow, slow, slow, quick, quick [twice]. 

o The leader begins with the left foot and steps side(left), back, rock forward, side(right), together, side(right), forward, rock back, side(left), together
o The follower begins with the right foot and steps side, forward, rock back, side, together, side, back, rock forward, side, together

Open break to Side basic underarm turn: (twenty steps) The rhythm is slow, slow, slow, quick, quick [four times]. 

o The leader begins with the left foot and steps side(left), back, rock forward, side(right), together, side(right) [releasing partner from the right arm to form open position], back [pressing into left had to lead follower to step back, also], rock forward, side (left) [remaining in open position and beginning to raise left hand], together, side (left) [left hand fully raised], back, rock forward [lowering left hand], side (right), together, side (right) [back into closed position], forward, rock back, side (left), together
o  The follower begins with the right foot and steps side (right), forward, rock back, side (left), together, side (left), back, rock forward, side (right), together, side (right), {turns 1/4 to the right] forward, [turns 1/2 turn to the right] forward, [turn 1/4 right to face leader], side (left), together, side (left), back, rock forward, side (right), together.
